I found an old knife. What would be the best way to get information about it?

This knife has a fixed blade. It looks handmade. The sheath looks handmade as well. The sheath is engraved with a diamond pattern.

1. ask elderly in ur family, or bring it to antique store, they usualy know thing or two bout tht :-)
2. look for a makers mark on the blade-and then look inkoppels
3. Find an antique store that deals in knives etc. Ask around first and see if they are reputable or not. Then see what they tell you. Remember not all antique dealers are on the level, a lot of them are just fences for theives.
